The North Wall Theatre is a flexible space, normally available for hire with a conventional end-on stage and a seating capacity of 191. In this configuration the stage measures 7.2m x 4.5m. Stalls seats have backs, while upper and lower gallery seats consist of padded benches with a padded bar on which to lean.
Other configurations include a larger end-on stage, a side thrust, traverse and in the round. There is an extra charge to set up any of these alternative lay-outs.
There are two dressing rooms holding a maximum of 20, with showers, toilets and disabled facilities.
The theatre is available for one-off commercial hires, arts, conference and training events. Please contact us with details of your requirements.
For professional, community and amateur groups wishing to mount their own performance event in the venue, please submit an application, with your choice of dates, your requirements, and as much detail of your company and your intended event as possible, including samples of work, links to your website etc.

Please note that the hirer is fully responsible for marketing their own event. Unfortunately, inclusion in the North Wall brochure or website cannot be guaranteed.
Hire Charges
- Schools / Education hire – £450 per day
- Charity hire – £550 per day
- Commercial hire – £650 per day
A day’s hire of the theatre gives access from 10am – 10pm
- Access outside of these hours may be possible for an additional charge.
- The daily hire rate includes staffing by a one theatre technician and a Front of House Duty Manager
- Additional technical support is charged at £30 per hour, per technician (minimum charge 3 hours)
- The hirer is expected to provide their own ushers, though these can be provided by The North Wall at an additional hourly cost.
- A bar service can be provided at no extra cost.
The North Wall can offer box office services with a commission of 10% on all the tickets we sell. We provide an online booking system and our box office is open Monday – Friday 10am-4pm, and Saturdays from 12pm – 4pm.
The theatre is also equipped with a grand piano, available to hire at a cost of £50 per day.
Reconfiguration of the theatre space and seating is possible for an additional charge of £300.
