The North Wall: Stage Manager/Theatre Technician
Closing Date: Mon 01 Nov 2021
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in an award-winning arts centre with a nationally recognised reputation for its innovative work.
An experienced Stage Manager/Theatre Technician is sought who can provide a very high standard of technical service. The post-holder has overall responsibility for stage management but needs to have an all-round understanding of and competence in technical theatre work, including lighting, sound and audio-visual, and the setting up, operation and maintenance of equipment.
They are also expected to provide in-house stage management to productions and projects in development and rehearsal and possibly also support taking productions on tour and to festivals for certain periods of the year. A formal qualification in stage management or technical theatre is essential, along with experience of technical work and/or stage management in the theatre.
Hours of work depend on incoming productions and other uses of the performance spaces. The nature of the job is such that there are periods of intense production work followed by less intense periods. Commitments involve some unsocial working hours, especially during production periods.
