Are you an early-career female photographer based in Oxfordshire?
The North Wall Arts Centre is inviting applications to join a new ArtsLab project for early-career photographers based in Oxfordshire.
ArtsLab is The North Wall’s artist development programme, offering mentorship and opportunities for early-career artists to develop their practice and flourish.
We are looking to bring together a group of photographers who would benefit from sharing ideas about new work and who wish to expand the boundaries of their creativity and evolve artistically.
About the Project
The group will be facilitated by The North Wall’s Propeller Artist 2021, Philippa James, through monthly Zoom meet-ups from June until September 2021. This group will comprise of 14 early-career photographers.
Applications are open to photographers who:
- are aged 18 and above
- live or work in Oxfordshire
- identify as female.
The North Wall celebrates diversity and fosters inclusion, and is committed to equality of opportunity for everyone in our community, regardless of class, age, disability, gender, race, ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation. We actively encourage applications from individuals who are under-represented in the cultural sector.
The group will work together to develop their ideas and the resulting work will be a curated online exhibition at The North Wall. This online exhibition will form part of Photo Oxford 2021 (15 October – 15 November 2021).
This year’s festival will continue to explore the theme Women and Photography – Ways of Seeing and Being Seen to complete the programme disrupted by Covid in 2020. For Photo Oxford 2020, The North Wall featured Philippa James’ exhibition 100 Women of Oxford and we look forward to hosting the work of a talented group of female photographers in 2021.
