Little Angel Theatre

I Want My Hat Back Trilogy

Adapted by Ian Nicholson and Sam Wilde

A bear has lost his hat. What if he never sees it again? WAIT! He has seen his hat.

A fish has stolen a hat. And he’ll probably get away with it. Probably.

Two turtles have found a hat. The hat looks good on both of them. But there are two turtles. And there is only one hat.

Following their hit Youtube series, and a sold out run at Little Angel Theatre, lockdown sensations Ian Nicholson and Sam Wilde are back, showcasing their trademark cardboard design across the UK on the first ever tour of I Want My Hat Back Trilogy!

Jon Klassen’s beloved books, I Want My Hat Back, This is Not My Hat and We Found A Hat, have found a new life of their own live on stage.

Stay and Play

Join us for Stay and Play in the drama studio from 12pm – 2pm (after the first show and before the second). These drop-in sessions are relaxed and give audiences the opportunity to be playful, creative and explore the themes of the show further. There are always lots of fun craft activities, reading corners and chances to dress up!

Make your very own little fish puppet and bring it to the show!

Samuel Wilde, designer and maker of the show, shows you how to make your very own Little Fish puppet! All you need is some cardboard, scissors, pens, tape, glue and some sticks (skewers or chopsticks work well).

Once complete, bring it along to the show with you as there will be an opportunity for you to take part in the show.

Reviews

"Hysterically funny and stunningly imaginative."

Everything Theatre

"Nemesis; hubris; redemption; headgear. (…) It would maaaaybe be a stretch to compare it to Greek tragedy, but there’s something of the devastating emotional clarity of the ‘Oresteia’ trilogy here. "

Time Out

"Impressive theatricality."
