The North Wall is delighted to announce the appointment of two new Creative Associates.
Amelia Thornber is a working-class, dual-heritage, multi-disciplinary artist working across theatre, music and live events. Graduating from Oxford Brookes in 2019 she began working as a stage manager, before moving into producing and then directing. Previously she has worked as Associate Producer at The North Wall, as Producer of Bright Nights Festival at The Old Fire Station, and as the Events and Communications Manager at In-Spire Sounds. Amelia desires to increase representation across the creative industries. She is a DJ, music producer and radio host. Currently Amelia works within music at Ministry of Sound, London, and as the Family Area Assistant at We Out Here Festival.
Mandala Theatre is an ethnically diverse and female-led cultural organisation in Oxford that uses the power of performance and creativity to change young lives, build communities and foster social justice. They were awarded NPO status in 2023. Mandala bring young people and artists from global majority and white working-class backgrounds together to create, train, perform and belong, placing their lived experience at the heart of the creative process. They are dedicated to raising the voices of those who are unheard. The company have toured several of their productions to the venue, including their most recent show, Seed Guardians.
We’re thrilled to welcome them into our Creative Associate family, and look forward to being inspired and challenged by their work and ideas, and to work with them to shape future collaborations.
