Alchymy 2019: Join the debate

Alchymy is a theatre festival of new work that also focuses on the professional development of emerging artists. As well as a series of rehearsed readings and performances taking place across the weekend, the festival also features panel discussions debating key industry issues. Comedy & Politics // Saturday 13 April 11am

Who has the right to make jokes in theatre? What is the value of satire in this day and age? Chaired by Tom Brennan (The Wardrobe Ensemble), with Caitlin Campbell (Bristol Improv Theatre), Dr Sophie Duncan (Christchurch College) and Beth Shouler (Leicester Curve)

Producers’ Panel // Saturday 13 April 2pm

An open discussion about the challenges and delights of theatre producing. Chaired by Ellie Keel, with panelists Beth Shouler and Aidan Grounds (NST).

Theatre Critics’ Panel // Saturday 13 April 2.15pm

A discussion about the values and priorities in theatre criticism today, and the relationship between critics and makers. Chaired by Ria Parry, with panelists Hannah Greenstreet, Tim Bano and Ava Wong-Davies.

Feminist Theatre // Sunday 14 April 11.15am

Chaired by Olivia Ouwehand, with panelists Mary Higgins, Hannah Greenstreet and Sasha Wilson.
