Lucy Kinsella creates an exciting celebration of nature through her innovative wildlife sculptures. Her animal studies range from delicate table-top bronzes to life size and monumental scale sculptures. Maquettes modelled in wax and wire offer her a simple, effective means of viewing composition and structure.
Larger pieces are worked in clay with a bold, spontaneous treatment of the surface. Kinsella’s trademark lies in the expressive handling and fine detailing that captures the movement and energy of her chosen subject.
Large-scale charcoal drawings zoom in on her subject, exploring textures and details of the surface and form. These drawings are available as limited-edition prints on stretched canvas.
An exhibition of Lucy’s large-scale sculptures can be see at Turrill Sculpture Garden from 1 June – 13 July, just across the road from The North Wall on South Parade. See the website for opening times.
