Written by Marika McKennell Directed by Emily Collins

Created by Roundhouse Resident artist and ArtsLab writing graduate Marika McKennell, ITCH is a charged and poetic look at the ways we internalise shame. Loosely based on true stories gathered from old people’s centres and her community work in Hackney and Tottenham, the show dextrously weaves together the narratives of three characters.

Marika is a London based spoken word poet and playwright and a graduate of the North Wall’s Catalyst programme. Her play at Camden Peoples Theatre ‘‘artfully combined humour and heaviness to destroy the patriarchy with a smile.’’ ITCH turns its attention to structural oppression, STDs and ageing to tell bold stories from shy places.
