RTYDS: Introduction to Directing

The North Wall and the Regional Theatre Young Director Scheme (RTYDS) are excited to announce an Introduction to Directing course for Oxfordshire-based young people who have an interest in directing for the stage.

RTYDS works to support people from under-represented communities to pursue a career in the arts. This course is open to individuals from low income backgrounds, with household incomes of less than £30,000.

This is a fantastic opportunity if you are considering a career in theatre directing, or you already have some experience but have faced social or financial barriers from pursuing it further.

Led by North Wall Co-Director Ria Parry, the course will focus on the skills and resources individuals need to develop their craft. There will be workshops with visiting directors and professional actors.

The course runs for 5 days: Friday 15th – Sunday 17th February and Saturday 23rd-  Sunday 24th February 2019 from 10am – 6pm daily. There is no cost to participate and bursaries will be available for travel expenses.

How to Apply:

If you are 18+ and based in Oxfordshire please send an expression of interest in a way that is most accessible to you. This can be a covering letter (1 page of A4) or a video application (no more than 3 minutes) letting us know why you want to take part.

Please send this to contact@thenorthwall.com by Friday 11th January 2019.

If you have any questions please feel free to drop us a line at the same address.
