SUMMER FESTIVAL 2009
This year's North Wall Festival offers exciting new premieres and new writing at its best. We have UK and World Premieres of works Dhyana and Song for Athene, performed by the Academy of St Martin in the Fields,'s one of the worlds' leading chamber orchestras in its 50th anniversary year, with soloist Ruth Palmer who is the Classical BRIT Young Classical Performer of the Year 2007.

Other music highlights include:

Saxophone virtuoso
- Awardwinning composer , who has written the scores for Planet Earth, Cry Freedom, Gandhi, Bergerac and the theme for BBC's Newsnight, in conversation and playing film music and other songs with his band and singer Lizzy Loeb
- Workshops with London session musicians
- Oxfordshire schoolchildren

Great new drama
Celebrated theatre company Paines Plough returns with a brand new work, created by six emerging young playwrights and making its UK premiere at The North Wall before going on to Latitude Festival.

Other drama highlights include:
· Hot new-writing company nabokov with a dramatic experience that blends theatre with sensational stand-up
· A new play, Touched, by celebrated writer Chris Thorpe, workshopped and performed by some of the most talented students from the National Student Drama Festival during a residency at The North Wall before transferring to Latitude Festival

CBBC presenters Dan and Jeff with their new compressed caper, Potted Pirates, a family comedy

Sharp stand-up
Fast becoming a favourite venue for stand-up, The North Wall this year presents the first Oxford Comedy Festival with three double bills of top-rate comedy from some of the UK's sharpest entertainers on their way up to Edinburgh, including and Isy Suttie (best known for playing IT geek Dobby in Channel 4's Peep Show).
