Oxford Printmakers Co-operative was founded thirty years ago by a group of artists inspired to create an open workshop for printmakers. Today the workshop has a thriving membership, a management committee and three technicians.

Over the years the work produced by Oxford Printmakers has played a major role in Oxford, nationally and worldwide. Their workshop in the Christadelphian Hall is an inspiring place where etching techniques, unchanged since the time of Rembrandt, are practised beside the most up-to-date methods of screen printing. Several types of press, including a large etching press funded by the Lottery, make possible a comprehensive range of media including etching, drypoint, screen print, lithography and linocut .

Members who give teaching workshops have for years inspired artists to join the Printmakers where they discover the fascination, endless possibilities and joy of making artists’ original prints.
