Oscar Mancino is one of Italy’s top interpreters of the Neapolitan song. Born in Naples, he studied at the Modena Conservatory, the Geneva Conservatory and under legendary masters of opera such as Mario Del Monaco, Paride Venturi, Arrigo Pola and Gianni Raimondi. Heralded for his impressive vocal range, Oscar Mancino has enjoyed a successful operatic career and his Rigoletto is considered one of the outstanding interpretations of Verdi’s star role.
Passionate about the contribution of Naples to the world of music, Mancino has been credited with reviving and updating the tradition of the Neapolitan song. His original songs, available on his CD ’The Voice of Naples’, are a glorious example of when tradition meets imagination.
